Mission and Vision

"Resilient minds, kind hearts, bright futures”

Mission:

We strive to improve life chances by creating well-rounded, resilient and independent thinkers who thrive in our safe and caring environment.

Vision:

Every Edgware Primary child leaves with the knowledge, skills and values for success, and the self-belief to achieve it.

School Values

At Edgware, at the heart of everything we do are five core values that we nurture in every child. From the curriculum we teach to the way we expect children to treat one another, these values are woven into the fabric of our school — shaping not just what children learn, but who they become.

  • Respect - We treat everyone how we want to be treated, we listen and we are kind
  • Honesty - We tell the truth; we take pride in doing what is right
  • Resilience -We persevere through challenges and learn from any mistakes
  • Curiosity - We love learning, we ask questions to find out more
  • Responsibility - We own our actions; we take care of each other and what we have

3 Core Principles for behaviour

  Ready, Respectful, Safe

  • Ready for learning and listening
  • Respect for self, other and our learning environment
  • Safe actions and environment so that everyone is safe

Ethos

At Edgware Primary, we are a warm, inclusive community where every child feels safe, known and valued. Our six core values are at the heart of everything we do — shaping the way we learn, the way we treat one another, and the culture that makes our school a place where all children believe in themselves and what they can achieve.

At Edgware,we develop children’s character through the Edgware Curriculum. To build character, we define the behaviours and habits that we expect children to demonstrate. We want to support our pupils to grow into adults who are polite, respectful, grateful and who put others before themselves. We believe that as pupils practice these behaviours, over time they become habits that positively shape how they feel about themselves and how other people perceive them.
